This opening is for a Director of Business Development who will take the lead in selling to and managing our relationship with direct strategic accounts.

Job Description

You'll be responsible for all revenue generated by Compiere's engagements with strategic accounts within your territory. This includes subscription fees generated from the deployment of Compiere's Standard Edition and Professional Edition product offerings plus revenues from training fees and implementation services.

Required skills/experience/education

  • Qualify customer's project for budget, timing and appropriateness of a Compiere solution
  • Understand and articulate complex business issues, and address them by working with clients to identify suitable application requirements and solutions
  • Work strategically as well as tactically in accounts
  • Take a leadership role in maximizing sales and ensuring client satisfaction and provide input to other Compiere team members as required
  • Independently make business presentations to any client at the executive, decision-making level
  • Exceed your revenue objectives
  • Generate and maintain a territory plan
  • Update Compiere's CRM system with accurate, timely information and participate in weekly pipeline reviews with Compiere's sales team
  • Take the lead in managing all aspects of Compiere's relationship with our strategic accounts. 
  • Work with the Compiere Partner Sales team to leverage the implementation skills and geographic presence of our Partners to provide complementary services and product extensions to our strategic accounts
  • Co-sell opportunities with Compiere Partners as appropriate
  • Five years of quota-exceeding sales experience
  • MBA plus five years, or BS plus eight years, business applications (Accounting, ERP, CRM) sales experience
  • Ability to work strategically and tactically on high-profile accounts
  • Ability to present effectively the most complex business issues to top-level prospects
  • Wide-range industry knowledge and contacts. Particularly in Compiere's primary end markets of Distribution and Services
  • Start-up company experience
  • Excellent written / verbal communication skills
  • High energy and positive attitude
  • Open source applications experience a plus
  • Fluency in English. Additional languages would be advantageous

Compensation

Your compensation will include a competitive base salary, commission payable on a quarterly basis and equity options.

Location/Travel

These roles are located at Compiere's Redwood Shores, CA headquarters. We anticipate travel will be minimal.

Job Description

The Director of Customer Support will lead the charter for Compiere's global customer satisfaction and success. This is a key strategic role within the company as customer subscriptions are a tangible revenue source. The role is a combination of customer support, relationship building, strategic account management & retention of subscription channels. This role will report directly to the EVP of development & support and will manage a multi site staff. To start off this is a hands-on role to establish a team, create processes, triage and trouble shoot customer issues. There is a substantial potential to grow and scale with the business.

With a primary focus on solving customer problems:

  • Provides on-going support of customer's installed ERP systems this includes solving tickets, replicating cases on test instances, coordinate fixes with development team, handling customer expectations.
  • Conducts process analysis that identifies the current state of business processes and propose new processes and methodologies.
  • Evaluates business process implications of Customer/Partner requirements and recommends possible design changes
  • Completes data analysis and utilizes quantitative decision support tools and modeling techniques where appropriate.
  • Works with QA team to define uses cases for the purposes of functional design development and test plans.
  • Escalation point for development and test teams to resolve issues.
  • Works primarily with Support colleagues and immediate Partners, in addition to cross-functional contacts on routine matters.
  • Accepts ownership of tasks and sub-projects and works under limited direction. Provides input to training documentation on Product.

Required skills/experience/education

  • MUST HAVE (no exceptions): Understanding & experience with ERP and business applications, plus a solid in depth understanding of financial software, accounting, supply chain, logistics, sales management business flows
  • Knowledge of professional services business and financial processes
  • Experience with small to moderate scale Support initiatives a plus

Job Description

The ERP Implementation Consultant will be responsible for helping to manage clients in both pre and post sale environments. This position will be responsible for the delivery of training, implementation, and integration services for customers of Compiere. Working with the rest of the Professional Services Team, this position will quickly assess customer implementation needs, develop innovative plans to solve their problems, and implement these plans to the customer's satisfaction.

The successful candidate must have a passion for helping small and mid-sized businesses as well as larger Fortune 1000 companies find creative ways to use Compiere to more effectively run their businesses. Work will be done both locally as well as at our customer's sites throughout the world.

Required skills/experience/education

  • The ideal candidate will have 5 plus years experience in systems applications consulting, either internally via an IT organization or externally with a consulting firm or software provider. In addition, the candidate should have solid experience in change management and Business Process Mapping in support and / or in conjunction with a major IS initiative.
  • Excellent understanding of common industry standard business practices as related to Accounting (Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, Invoicing), Inventory Management (Purchasing and Fulfillment), Sales Force Automation (Returns, Team Selling), Marketing Campaigns and Web presence (Net or ECommerce, Shopping carts, Website layout) as well as Support (Cases Management and Territory Management).
  • Successful candidates should have demonstrated experience in translating customer business requirements into workable world class business solutions, either as a software solution or a re-engineering initiative. Candidates should have excellent client management skills and be able to work with customers to execute on an implementation plan.
  • Experience with software in an ASP environment is a plus as is any experience with financial accounting, customer management, and sales force automation software. Previous consulting experience with the following applications is a solid predictor of success Compiere: QuickBooks, Great Plains, SalesForce.com, Upshot, ACT, Goldmine, MAS 90, Siebel, Oracle, SAP, PeopleSoft, JD Edwards. Working knowledge of and experience using XML, JavaScript, HTML, Crystal and SQL is desirable.

Additional Considerations

  • Experience with designing and writing HTML, Java and Java script for an ecommerce Web site.
  • Implementation of any Compiere internal or external website.

Travel

This position is based in our Redwood Shores, CA office and some travel will be required for this position. Travel goal is 10-20%.

Job Description

The ERP Sales Consultant will be responsible for supporting Compiere's Partner Sales and Strategic Account Sales teams in pre-sales activities. The role's primary focus will be on providing functional pre-sales support. Any technical skills a candidate can also offer would be advantageous. The successful candidate will work directly with Compiere's prospects, sales team and partners to help identify the fit between Compiere's solution and the client's needs, design the optimal solution, and demonstrate that solution. The role will require you to:

  • Prepare and deliver product demos, presentations, and competitive positioning
  • Understand and articulate complex business issues, and address them with appropriate solutions
  • Complete RFIs and RFPs
  • Ensure a smooth transition between pre-sales technical work and post-sales consulting and technical support
  • Deliver business and technical presentations to any client at the executive, decision-making level
  • Help provide training to Compiere's Partners, Customers and Prospects
  • Develop tools typically used by pre-sales professionals, including presentations, demonstrations, demonstration scripts, etc.

Required skills/experience/education

The ideal candidate will have:

  • BS degree plus 5 years ERP pre-sales experience.
  • A solid understanding of common industry business practices related to Accounting (Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, Fixed Assets), Procurement, Inventory Management and Order Management.
  • Experience in translating customer business requirements into workable business solutions
  • Excellent client communication and presentation skills

Job Description

You'll be responsible for all revenue provided by Compiere's Authorized Partner Channel in your region. This role's primary goal is to generate new Compiere subscription revenue via your partners. Your quota will also include revenue from partner fees, training, subscription renewals, and database sales through your partner channel.

Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated QA Engineer to further improve the quality of our ERP application. The successful candidate will execute many of the day-to-day tasks essential in supporting a production system, not only monitoring the process but also testing the product. Our services are in production with many high profile customers and we require frequent quick-turnaround releases as well as periodic major releases. Flexibility, acute attention to detail, technical savvy and willingness to build QA collateral and execute test coverage in each and every release is vital for this role. The right candidate will be able to coordinate the appropriate level of testing with both an on-site and offshore test team and ensure testing best practices are followed. This is also a customer facing role as you will help in addressing support issues as well. You are a consultative problem solver. You listen carefully and ask questions and apply good judgment to diagnose and help resolve complex customer questions and issues while generating a high level of customer satisfaction with each interaction.

You have strong analytical skills and the proven ability to research, analyze and determine an appropriate course of action for customer issues. You have excellent communication skills and the ability to modify your communication style to meet customer needs. You are knowledgeable regarding relevant operating systems and have good hardware and software troubleshooting skills.
